House of the Black Madonna

If you want to see one of Prague’s most striking Cubist buildings – and one of the first of its kind – the House of the Black Madonna (1912) is a must. Featuring Cubist elements on its façade, railings, and roof, the building also houses the iconic Grand Café Orient and a permanent exhibition of Czech Cubism upstairs.

The only Cubist street lamp in the world

Designed by Emil Králíček in 1913, this unique street lamp is a perfect example of Cubism in urban infrastructure. Though the version on display is a replica, the experience of encountering its angular beauty during an evening walk is unforgettable.
